Angels Unforgotten Africa (AUA)
1st Annual Gala held in San Antonio, USA supporting Downs Syndrome Awareness in Africa.
The Zumba dance fitness exercise was set up to celebrate “The World Down Syndrome Day” marked on the 21st of March, 2016 , all over the world, to raise awareness of people living with Down syndrome in our society; create an enabling environment for them by inspiring, accepting and loving them. It was also aimed at raising funds for Darasimi, one of children requiring heart surgery. There was a sales stand set up at the Centre.
This was a time out with parents and caregivers of people living with Down syndrome. At this programme we had real life issues discussed and age long questions were answered, parents and care givers learnt more how best to care for their children living with special needs, and understanding was attained.
A 5km walk to raise the awareness of Downs Syndrome in Amuwo Odofin Local Govt Area, Festac Town where we are situated. We are in a community that records a population of over 1.5million according 2006 National census.
